Anand realised his voice qualities when he gave his voice test in 1995 for Akashwani Pune. He got selected as a voice over artist for drama. He started lending his voice for Akashwani Pune and was part of many Radio plays, Yuvavani programmes and then later also got selected for Hindi drama and programmes. He feels himself fortunate to get an opportunity to work with Veteran Actor Dr.Shreeram Lagoo in a Play “Vedyacha Ghar Unhat” for Akashwani, Pune.

         He has anchored 80 episodes with famous Numerologist Shweta Jumani and also popular series “Vedh baipanacha” on Akashwani, Pune. He lent his voice for more than 250 radio commercials and episodic TV serials like World of Wonders, Denver the last Dinosaur for more than 500 episodes .

         After making the difficult decision to leave his corporate career in HR to act Anand left Pune in 2004 and started his journey towards pursuing his dreams. Soon after that Anand made his professional debut in a play NATG (Nighale Aaj Tikadachya Ghari) directed by Ajit Bhure. After performing in 100 shows of NATG, he was offered a role in his next play “Karach Prem Khare” in 2006 which was an adaptation of famous Marathi musical “Sangeet Sanshaykallol”. The play staged not more than 50 shows but Anand’s performance in the play was highly praised.

         Simultaneously he lent his Voice for Popular Serial Crime Diary for more than 500 episodes on Etv Marathi. He also became the channel voice for ETV marathi, Mee Marathi and Zee Marathi. Anand has dubbed more than 50 marathi and few hindi films. At the same time, Anand directed a one act play ASO written by Kiran Potrekar for a popular Marathi One act competition ‘Amrut kumbh Karandak’. ASO got nominated and won awards. Anand got recognition in the marathi theatre Industry and his journey picked up speed.

         In 2007 veteran writer- director Ratnakar Matkari offered him a role in his play ‘ Mejwanicha farce’ as the main lead. This play got Anand his first ZEE Awards nomination for the best actor in experimental theater category.

         Following year Anand worked with Kumar Sohoni in his play “Bol Bacchan.” Anand played 8 characters in this single play which was quite challenging but his work got praised and appreciated.

         In 2008 Anand was offered a role of Kabddi coach in a play Kabddi-Kabddi with veteran actor Late Vinay Apte and talented Mukta Barve. Anand got nominated again in the best supporting actor category for ZEE Awards now for 2 consecutive years. He performed 300 shows of Kabddi-Kabddi. He received loads of appreciation for this role.

         During this period, he bagged films like Nishani Dava Angtha, National Award winner film Jogwa, Made In China, Pratisad, Mohan Awate etc.

Anand got an opportunity to work with Veteran Writer & Director Sai Paranjape in her short telefilm SUI. she praised his acting professionalism and offered him a prominent role in her play “Jaswandi” which was staged the next year. Jaswandi gave him much deserved appreciation all over. Jaswandi staged more than 100 shows.

         During Kabddi-Kabddi Anand was experimenting in Hindi theatre and started working with Hindi groups. Eventually he got an opportunity to work with Oscar winning Writer and Director Gulzar Sahib’s plays ’Lakeerein’ and ‘Atthanniya’ directed by Salim Arif. In this play he shared stage with talented actors Yashpal Sharma and Lubna Salim.

         Anand got an audition call from India’s biggest bollywood musical theater company WIZCRAFT International for their “Kingdom of Dreams”. Anand got selected through thousands of auditions conducted all over India for the Lead role Anup Das and Boss for the musical comedy “Jhumroo”.


         Since 2011, Anand has worked with kingdom of Dreams, Gurgaon, and has performed 750 shows of “Jhumroo”. During his stay in Delhi, Anand explored Hindi as well as English Theater.He has acted in Hindi films like ‘Once Upon a time in Mumbai’ and ‘Trip to Bhangarh’.

         Anand was a core member of “Rangvardhan International Theater Festival ”organised by Pruthvi theater and also conducted theater workshops with Bharat Natya Mandir , Rotary youth leadership Programmes(RYLA) and One world of Music Academy.

         After gaining a rich experience and working hard through all these years...Anand is well on the path towards fulfilling his dreams. Now he is back in Mumbai and knows that the best is still to come........
